I am of the mind this game should emulate F1 as much as possible.
If we change the word copy for cover then it becomes clear. F1 teams cover the decisions and actions of their competitors all the time and in many ways.
The most obvious is in pitstops when a car will either cover the pit stop strategy of a competitor or do the opposite which ever they see is to their potential advantage. Either way they are carefully considering the decisions of their competitors in order to make their decisions.
