  frustrations of race luck
I was all over McLaren. I told my daughter all week I would go heavy on McLaren and rule the world big time. But of course when they seemed to **** in practice two I changed my mind. Oh well.

Bad days make the good ones better. I knew they were probably working the add-ons but Norris fooled me with his friday interview of complaints etc. Sometimes I think I would do better without watching practice.

Onward and upward.

Yep, out by 2 as I thought. My Mexico curse raised its head again (it's caused me a lot of pain in the Cup over the years). While I was initially annoyed about it (I fancied my chances of winning the Cup with so many big names slipping up already), I was SUPER lucky to escape my group (kept my record of never being knocked out in the groups) and getting this far was a solid achievement. We'll have a new winner for the competition to come, which'll be cool!

Surprised Lorrie replaced her ERS for the round, as it had so much left. We'll see if that proves pivotal in the semis.

Personally, 4 more fronts to still fight on, so bring on Brazil!

Perez out lap one hurts. My Cup match looks like it's going to be super close as a result. Might well come down to the fastest lap prediction.

I expect there'll be a lot of moves on the main leaderboard, depending who's got lucky or unlucky!

Definitely a good race for options... sadly the team that is forced to use options for the rest of the season has Norris in. Three times Norris and twice Leclerc is maybe better than many others, but still, I will need over the top performances to have a chance to win one of the best trophies. In last race I thought I did pretty well in constructors, then I looked at CarlisleFrost's teams and thought I probably stunk after all... in the end I got second place, but lost 13.7 points... totally bonkers performance, man, congrats.
This time difference might be smaller, five drivers the same and then once Hamilton on your and Leclerc on my side, though I guess Ferraris are better in quali and Mercedes in the race, but we will see... interesting how we both avoided to choose Norris more than once for constructors.

Edit: Fake news, sorry... you have Hamilton twice and me Verstappen and Leclerc

@Chris, similar thoughts too. I thought Ferrari would struggle here, so ditched them. They still could struggle in the race with tyre wear, especially if it's hot. That said, with pole, it has become a good race for options!

@CarlisleFrost Sure you were not wrong about needing a miracle, also not about Mercedes' retirement being a surprize, but your choices for cup team sure were better than Mercedes' reliability, on which I sadly built my hopes too much.
This time it is much more difficult to choose...

@GaKra, well I said I needed a miracle and I wasn't wrong. It was a long shot and I got lucky. My other thinking for that race was just to go full McLaren and that actually would have been more comfortable.

@Alan, I'd say I reached the knockouts by one of the thinnest margins ever. Must-win final group match and I won by a single point. Had Tipster activated their additional change, they'd have won and it would've been my first time ever to not get through the group stages. I've ridden my luck and will see how far it takes me. Tough match-up next, so I'll be taking nothing for granted!

With a lot of teams looking decent this weekend, I expect we'll see some more variety this round than in the last few, which should make for some intriguing battles.

@Alan_T_Riley Thank you, man! I am glad to see your improvements, by the way. You now have everything it takes to win one or more of these big titles. Keep going like that, and I wish you the luck that is needed to beat those who also have it. One step closer to a duel with your daughter, huh?

And I agree with you that you should use a strategy you feel comfortable with. Otherwise you will blame yourself if it goes wrong and possibly make a mistake in the next race. Of course it helps to risk a bit more if you win first few duels... or if you have an inactive opponent using the weaker tyres. Once you're in a situation like CarlisleFrost was, you just have to find a way to qualify first. I like to choose a strategy for which I won't have to blame myself if it goes wrong... you know, the way I can say with the informations I had, it was a good choice.
When player Dominic had four teams on ranks 1 to 4 in overall one race before the end of the season, I sure expected him to choose four different strategies to make sure one team will get through. At least that is what I would have done. But he set up four almost identical teams, scored lots of points with all of them and has now a record for the ages. Success proves he did the right thing, but even then I would have never done this as I would not have felt comfortable with it... I would not have achieved that record but would have had good chances to win the title even if the race had taken another direction. So what's a good strategy for me doesn't have to be a good strategy for everybody else.

the suddeness of match races
Carlisle I recall telling you when you failed to win any of your first three races that you would be here and you are.

Gakra I know the frustration believe me. All I can say is at least you are one of the biggest winners ever here and everyone knows it. Match racing is exciting, exhilarating and vicious.

I recall Futchi using a long-term strategy conserving energy etc to win it all last yr. While I admire you guys for doing that I can't. I fight each race like my life depends on it and don't hold back. I figure why worry about the final race when I aint never made it yet. Maybe it is because winning any match is a thrill for me as I have never achieved what you have.

Nine of sixteen upper seeds went down today. As I said these seeds mean nothing.

@CarlisleFrost I hope your predictions in the game were better than in the forum. But then I can see you won a duel that seemed to be almost impossible to win. And my seemingly comfortable position with free tyre choice and full ERS has been evaporated in less than half a minute...
