Due to the new technical regulations, the balance of power in Formula 1 has changed. As a result, some PFF1 component prices are over- or undervalued. In order to still guarantee an exciting competition, there is an extraordinary component cost adjustments feature in the PFF1 rules.
With an extraordinary cost adjustment, component values (driver, chassis, engine) are adjusted without altering the team budget. Neither team gains or loses value. However, it results in some component combinations becoming too expensive for current team budgets. 5 free team changes are possible one last time after race 3.
Before the extraordinary component cost adjustments, a regular cost adjustment will be made. The team budgets will rise or fall as a result:
